Back before Modelo Especial was one of the top-selling beers in the country and these squat gold rimmed bottles were a rare novelty, Negra Modelo was simply a vienna-style lager with a cult following. A cult following borne out of the fact that people almost always remember the first time they had one. So we decided to thank those introducers for their introductions to this wonderful nectar.

I’ll explain a few pieces in here that I think may need it: The (unfortunately limited-market) coasters had pencils attached so you could write down the name of the person who gave you your first Negra and slide it over to them; the drunk dialing booth, where you could go in and make a 3-minute phone call to anywhere in the world to thank the person who game you your first; and the website that allowed you to post your story online to create a database of introducers, you could fill in your info from web banners, not just the site.
