These rovi screengrabs really don’t make much sense, so let me explain. Nah, too long, let me sum up.

rovi is a company who went from being patent protecting lawyers to owning most of the world’s information about music, tv shows, and movies. Also, they owned the technology to make all the information useful, like program guides and the stuff that powers Amazon.

So they were changing their name to rovi, because it’s pretty much a new company, and they asked us to help internally launch the fact that they were now sort of an entertainment company to the lawyers and programmers that formerly made up their employee base. INTERESTING PART HERE: So we built an in-house social network that allowed you to basically see and play with all of their information and technology. Not only that, you could see what movies people were into, and realize that even though they span something like 5 continents, they all pretty much like Lost and the Shawshank Redemption. It made them all a big happy family, and I got a patent for some new stuff done in social networking technology.
